It’s said a billion dollars went through his crack cocaine racket when he was running the show.
So it’s fair to say he knows a thing or two about running a successful business – albeit an illegal one.
And while you might not necessarily associate business principles such as: honesty, not making things all about money and reducing unnecessary confrontations – with a drug kingpin – they are in fact the very values that helped cement Rick Ross’s “success.”
Fortunately, his last stint in jail (he spent 20 years in total in and out of the slammer) ended his kingpin days, and he has since turned his attention to lecturing kids on how to avoid the situation he was in.
This is something he’s especially passionate about, given that when he was 18 (and couldn’t read or write and had no money), he turned to a teacher whom he respected for advice. The advice they gave a desperate and impressionable Ross was the following: Sell drugs.
And so from here, his unconventional journey began…
